Tasker Oddie, Governor and Senator from Nevada
Grand Old Partisan honors Tasker Oddie, born October 20th 1870. The ambitious youth settled in Nevada after graduating from New York University Law School. He prospered managing a silver mining company.
Government service began with district attorney. Entry to politics was as senate senator. Oddie was elected Governor in 1910. His administration improved worker safety. In 1920, he won the first of two U.S. Senate terms. He was delegate at four Republican National Conventions.
